Casey is an associate in the firm’s New York Office, where she has the privilege of representing victims who have been tragically affected by mesothelioma, including those injured by exposure to asbestos-containing talcum powder products. Prior to joining MRHFM, Casey began her legal career at a boutique Personal Injury & Intellectual Property firm in New York City, where she handled a variety of personal injury, premise/auto liability, and trademark matters from inception up to settlement/trial.
Casey received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where she served as Associate Managing Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, Business Affairs Coordinator for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society, President of the Intellectual Property Law Association, and Vice President of Entrepreneur Partnerships for the Center for Urban Business Entrepreneurship (CUBE) Pro Bono project.
Ms. Mefford received her Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University where she majored in Psychology and double-minored in Marketing and Philosophy. She was also an NCAA Division IAA Cheerleader for Fordham’s football and men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Outside of the office, Casey spends her free time traveling (over 30 countries), reading, snowboarding, following the Miami Heat & Dolphins, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Aiden.
Casey is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and pending admission in New York.
Experience
Began her legal career at a boutique Personal Injury & Intellectual Property firm in New York City, where she handled a variety of complex personal injury, premise/auto liability, and trademark matters from inception up to settlement/trial. During law school, Casey held internships with 3 different intellectual property/entertainment law firms, a music publishing company, and a non-profit focused on assisting entrepreneurs, designers, and artists.
